Conservation Project Leaders in Kalimantan
Founded in 1903, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is the world’s longest-established international
conservation organisation. Today, we are active in over 40 countries around the world, supporting hundreds of
projects to conserve species and ecosystems. FFI’s regional programmes cover Africa, Eurasia, Asia-Pacific and
the Americas. Our conservation action is distinguish ed by the fact that we are pioneering, take risks, maintain
low infrastructure costs, and are fully committed to building locally sustainable conservation programmes.
In Kalimantan we work to conserve orangutan and its habitats, employing a diverse programatic approaches.
These include establishment of orangutan monitoring and protection teams, strenghtening protected area
management, landscape HCV assessment, spatial planning, ecolabel certification in agriculture and forestry
sectors, community-based forest management, and REDD (reduce emissions from deforestation and
degradation).
We are seeking for qualified professionals to fill the following positions:
1. Project Team Leader for Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan
2. Project Team Leader for Ketapang, West Kalimantan
3. Project Team Leader for Murung Raya, Central Kalimantan
As project team leader, she or he will be responsible for overall project management to deliver concrete
conservation results. His/her primary tasks are:
1. Provide overall leadership and conservation vision of the project
2. Develop detail project workplans and prepare technical reports
3. Supervise and monitor fieldworks carried out by project team members (staff, secondment,
consultants)
4. Coordinate training, meeting, and technical assistance to partners and/or staff
5. Strengthen and mantain relationships with government officials, private sectors, NGO partners, and
donors
6. In coordination with Kalimantan Regional Manager, represent FFI-IP in project site.
7. Provide technical and/or idea for proposal/project development
Requirements:
1. Graduate or postgraduate in related fields
2. Minimum 5 years experience in species and forest conservation projects, preferably in Kalimantan
3. Team player, with strong communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills
4. Excelent skills in presentation and writing in Bahasa Indonesia, preferably also in English
